Sparkling Alice & Wolf Girl had quite a traumatic day yesterday, and to top it off ... the View Point Inn has no wifi access! However, we hope you'll be pleased to know that this temporary problem has been rectified ... as we are currently sitting in a truckstop at the side of the freeway! Hope you're suitably impressed with our dedication!
Wednesday 16 June - With much regret it was time for Sparkling Alice & Wolf Girl to leave Forks ... here we are saying goodbye to the Cullen's resident housekeepers, Bill & Susan ...
However, we couldn't leave before embarking on yet another visit to Dazzled by Twilight ... which involved use of the credit cards (again!)
When we finally did manage to pluck up courage to leave Forks ... someone had the bright idea that it might be nice to visit the Hoh Rainforest on the way to Kalama & Corbett ... unfortunately, that person didn't factor in that it was approximately an hour each way detour!
... This woudn't have been a problem if Sparkling Alice had only foreseen the puncture that Vera sustained in the middle of nowhere! Fortunately, just after Sparkling Alice & Wolf Girl had man-handled Louis & Patsy (their suitcases), plus several Dazzled by Twilight bags, out of the boot, a very nice man (who was no vampire or werewolf) stopped to help us change the tyre, which we then discovered to our delight, was a space-saver - so should only do about 50 miles on it!
He kindly pointed us in the direction of the nearest tyre repair place ... which was only some 84 miles down the road! You'll be pleased to learn that we made it with 3 minutes to spare before the repair shop closed for the day!
Sparkling Alice & Wolf Girl are indebted to the staff of Les Schwabs for staying late to get them back on the road again! To be continued .....
